410,000 square foot six story office building with cafeteria, fitness center, training rooms and open office area. Attached is a 35,000 square foot hardened shell Data Center with 4.5 meg of backup power generation available along with redundancy of the UPS system. Baker Electric installed a security system, fire alarm system, 5 KV distribution system, voice/data wiring, trench header for a floor duct system, snow melt system, indirect lighting, low voltage lighting control along with lighting up 20 acres of parking lot.

Baker Electric provided the complete electrical installation consisting of High voltage substations, generation, voice/data, fire alarm, security, lighting and power. bldg was cmpleted in the fall of 1997 on schedule

John Layland Meredith Corporate Headquarters

Completed in 1997. 135,000 square foot multi level building Connected to their existing facility with a sky-bridge. A great number of things architecturally and electrically were done to take advantage of the suns natural light. They have some slanted walls and windows that are higher than normal and day lighting controls on light fixtures so the fixtures dim automatically if the sun is very bright. Natural prairie grass setting on both sides for quite times.

Chad Layland Iowa Judicial Branch Building

The Iowa Judicial Branch Building is the home of the Iowa Supreme Court, the Iowa Court of Appeals, and state court administration. Baker Electric, Inc. completed the electrical power and lighting, voice/data, security, fire alarm, card access, and audio/visual work in this 124,000 square foot facility. This project included courtrooms with special lighting controls and cold cathode lighting and several separate A/V systems for recording and local distribution of court proceedings. Also included in this project was an Iowa Communications Network (ICN) training room, which is networked across the state.

The Target Distribution Center located in Cedar Falls covered 1,348,740 square feet under one roof. We installed 613 data locations and 347 voice locations throughout the facility to 1 MDF and 15 IDF’s. Both Copper and Multi-Mode Fiber were installed between the Termination Closets. This facility will be utilized to distribute product to Target Stores throughout the Midwest.
